Software Developer Intern

You will be working in our office, located in Piscataway, NJ. This position is ideal for new or recent graduates with a few years of experience under their belt with a technical background who enjoy working in a cutting-edge environment. Our Developer team develops specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies and/or maintains the existing software. As a software developer, you will collaborate and interface with a strong Agile/Scrum Development team during all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, work hard, learn a lot, and have fun.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO: 

  • Design and code applications following specifications and using the appropriate tools
  • Maintain and modify existing applications 
  • Perform maintenance programming for existing versions
  • Perform customized programming at customer’s request
  • Assume responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product
  • Ensure the consistent accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, writing clear documentation and problem resolution 
  • Keep technically current on each upgrade
  • Engage actively to stay plugged into software trends

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
Experience, Competencies and Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics or technically related field or equivalent related work experience (0-2 years) 
  • Previous brokerage industry experience and business knowledge highly desirable
  • Creative, self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical employees
  • Ability to interface well with non-technical employees 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Language Skills

  • Required: C# and C++
  • Desired: SQL, Oracle, and/or Microsoft Visual Studio

Desktop Support Intern

You will be working in our office, located in Piscataway, NJ. As a Desktop Support Intern, you will support internal customers with technical issues you will engage creatively, work hard, learn a lot, and have fun.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Technical: Provide top notch technical assistance.  
    • Support the Infrastructure team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems
    • Troubleshoot issues with IT equipment including printers, computers, tablets; cell phones and software applications
    • Supports desktop and laptop end-users with IT related problems including responding to phone requests, setting up and administering new user accounts
    • Assists with Infrastructure projects related to support and infrastructure
    • Configure and set up desktops and laptops for use
    • Support end-users with remote access including connectivity or other related issues
    • Assist with departmental documentation
    • Distributes software using the software distribution system; installs manually as required 
    • Resolve issues in a timely manner
    • Manage task issue list and monitor progress toward completing those items and provide weekly status updates to Manager

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
Experience, Competencies and Education

    • The Intern must be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Information Technology
    • Comprehensive knowledge of PC’s, operating systems and PC peripherals and desktop software
    • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and in developing and maintaining customer rapport
    • Demonstrated ability to provide technical support while analyzing and developing solutions to problems
    • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
